The two-mile long beach in Lahinch is an excellent beach for surfing, no matter what your ability is.  It has a variety of breaks that cater for novice, intermediate and experienced surfers.  Five miles further south from Lahinch you will find Spanish Point, which is another perfect surfing beach.  Both beaches are among some of the best places in Europe to learn surfing with the advantage of the slower rolling Atlantic waves. 

Lessons

Irish Surfing Champion John McCarthy's Surfing School is located in Lahinch and provides a safe, relaxed and affordable introduction to the exhilarating sport of surfing.  He provides two hours surfing lessons for all ability and ages.  These lessons will teach you the techniques of surfing, cover water safety and ocean awareness and provide you with all the equipment necessary for your lesson.
