Dylan Thomas Literary Weekend
This weekend of literature commences on the evening of Friday 18th May and will continue until Sunday 20th May.
It will include lectures, children's sessions, informal talks on the history of Ennistymon House, the MacNamara's and their connection to Dylan Thomas plus music and entertainment.
The weekend is open to all and accommodation packages are available for the weekend.

Friday Night:
6.30pm
Official Launch by the Mayor of Clare Pat Hayes followed by a Lecture by Andrew Lycett.
Andrew is an English biographer and journalist. He has written a number of very well received biographies and is best known for his ones on Ian Fleming and Dylan Thomas.
Saturday 19th May:
10am
Eddie Lenihan – Event for Children big and small. He is an author, storyteller, lecturer and broadcaster and is one of the few practising Seanchai remaining in Ireland.
11am – 1pm
John F. Deane and Robert Minhinnick.
John F. Deane founded Poetry Ireland and has published several collections of poetry and some fiction.
Robert Minhinnick, born in Neath, South Wales. He is an essayist and poet and is the recipient of many awards for his essays and poetry.
2.30 – 4.30pm
Clairr O’Connor and Jo Slade
Jo Slade is a poet and painter and lives in Limerick. Her poetry books include In Fields I Hear Them Sing, The Vigilant One and Certain Octobers.
Clairr O' Connor lives in Dublin and is the author of two novels, Belonging and Love in Another Room. Recent poetry can be read in Orbis (UK) and The Prairie Schooner (U.S.A.).

Screening of the Documentary on Dylan Thomas followed by a discussion from Diarmuid Johnson.
Diarmuid was Born in Cardiff, 1965. He moved to Ireland aged three and was educated in Galway. From 1989 until 1996 he lectured in Celtic languages and literature in France, Germany and Ireland. Since 1997 he has worked predominantly as a freelance writer, translator and editor, both in print and in television, through the media of Irish, English and Welsh.
Sunday 20th May:
11am
Informative, leisurely and enjoyable walk with the North Clare Historical Society. Commencing at the hotel, it will bring people on a journey through the town pointing out famous landmarks and interesting facts on the many poets and dreamers, including Brian Merriman and many others.

Fred Johnston, Diarmuid Johnson and Paul O’Mahony
Fred was born in Belfast in 1951 and was educated in Belfast and Toronto. His early prose was published in the Irish Press literary pages. In 1972 he received a Hennessy Literary Award for prose. For some years he worked as a journalist. In the mid-seventies, together with Neil Jordan and Peter Sheridan, he founded the Irish Writers Co-operative.
Paul O’Mahony (born Limerick), author of Irish Epic Poem in 33 Cantos, became a poet in 1995. He founded Words & Ears 1996 in Wiltshire UK. He now lives in Cork. His self-published very political & lyrical Epic Poem was launched at Listowel Writers' Week 2010.
